A note from the founder
Years ago I recorded my grandfathers telling our family’s stories. Those recordings are priceless to us now — and I wish I’d kept more while I could.
These days I live in Austria and my family is back in Bulgaria — it is hard to find the right moment to record stories like I did in the past. This is why I built Spomen: my parents can tell their stories at their own pace.
I record stories from my life with my daughter, and we all share the stories in our family group. Everything is perfectly organized and searchable, and everyone can contribute and share. It’s a new way to share our lives and remember.
What happens to your stories
Original audio and the first transcript are never overwritten; AI-written prose and your edits stay separate. Story data and original recordings are copied daily into independently encrypted recovery archives with a separate European provider.
Only the family members you invite can open the archive. Share links are explicit, revocable, and never part of a public feed.
We do not sell your stories or use them to train our models. Named service providers process content only to transcribe, write, narrate, store, or deliver what you ask for.
