- What happens to my stories if I cancel?
- You keep Spomen Family until the end of the paid period. After that, the archive remains readable and your data export stays available; new recordings, fresh AI generation, and print-ready PDF book downloads need an active plan.
- Can Spomen build a family tree?
- Yes. Spomen keeps track of people and relationships as stories accumulate, so your archive is not just a pile of recordings. You can review and edit the family tree, use it to understand who a story is about, and export it as readable files plus structured JSON and GEDCOM.
- How much recording is included?
- Spomen Family includes 24 Story Hours per paid year, shared by everyone in your family, with up to 4 hours in any 30 days. As a simple rule, one minute of recording uses one Story Minute. Reading, listening back, editing text by hand, sharing and exporting use none. The exact counting rules are set out below.

How Story Hours are counted
€59 per year. 24 Story Hours per paid year, shared across everyone and every group covered by your subscription, with a maximum of 4 Story Hours in any rolling 30 days.
One minute of recorded audio uses one Story Minute, including pauses. Typed or scanned contributions use one Story Minute per 150 words. Recorded calls count each recorded participant’s track. Starting a call needs at least 6 available Story Minutes: 2 for a one-minute call and 4 temporarily held for safe shutdown. Unused reserved time is released. Initial transcription, questions and the first story version are included in that contribution’s usage.
New narration, rewritten story versions and book story versions also use this same allowance. Their processing cost is converted at US$0.0098 per Story Minute, rounded up: at least 1 minute for narration and 2 minutes for a new story or book version. A generated image uses 3 minutes. Variable generation temporarily reserves up to 30 available Story Minutes. We never charge more than the available capacity reserved for that operation. Replaying existing audio, reading and data export use no Story Hours.
The 4-hour limit is shared, not per person or group. Capacity returns progressively 30 days after use. It does not accumulate each month, and renewal or restarting the same membership does not erase recent usage. The annual allowance refreshes at your paid-year boundary; unused included hours do not carry into the next year.
Web subscriptions cost €59, billed annually. You can stop renewal at any time during the first year. After that initial year, the contract continues indefinitely and you can end it with no more than one month’s notice. We refund the unused prepaid time after your effective end date. Your archive stays readable and your data export remains available. Statutory withdrawal and other mandatory rights are unaffected.
