Refund Policy

Withdraw from contract here

This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for Spomen web purchases. It sits alongside our Terms of Service. Georgi Kostov, operating as Spomen, is the product seller. Sold through Link, LLC is the merchant of record for web purchases through Stripe Managed Payments and collects subscription payments on our behalf. Eligible refunds are issued through the original payment provider and appear on the same card or account used to pay.

14-day money-back guarantee

If you're not happy with a paid plan, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full — no questions asked. This applies to your first charge on a new annual subscription. Your stories and recordings stay yours; a refund ends the paid entitlement, and you can export everything first.

Renewals & cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your billing settings or through Cancel subscription here without signing in. During the initial year, ordinary cancellation stops renewal at that year's end. After the first year, the web contract continues indefinitely with annual billing, and you may end it with no more than one calendar month's notice. We refund the unused prepaid portion after your effective end date to your original payment method. This policy also benefits existing web subscribers. Your archive stays readable and exportable after paid access ends. More favourable statutory rights remain.

Our voluntary first-payment guarantee does not apply to renewal payments. This does not limit statutory rights, refunds for billing errors, or refunds available under Link's policy. We send a reminder before an annual renewal. If you need help with a renewal, contact us or Link support. Where Link's refund policy gives you greater protection, it takes precedence over this policy.

Earlier purchases

A purchase made under an earlier offer remains governed by the terms presented and accepted when it was bought. Email us with the purchase email or receipt and we will confirm the applicable cancellation, refund, and support options. Nothing in this policy removes a statutory right you already have.

Your statutory rights (EU)

If you are a consumer in the EU, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract, although the rules differ for services and digital content. Our 14-day money-back guarantee is offered in addition to — and never instead of — any rights you have under EU and Austrian consumer law. Nothing in this policy limits those rights.

To exercise a statutory withdrawal right, email hello@spomen.app with a clear statement that you are withdrawing, the order or account email, and the purchase concerned. You do not need to give a reason. We will acknowledge receipt. This email route is available in addition to any online withdrawal function shown on the site.

Duplicate or failed charges

If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or see a payment you don't recognise, contact us — we'll investigate and refund any error in full, outside the 14-day window.

How to request a refund

Email hello@spomen.app from the address on your account, and tell us which charge you mean. We aim to reply within a few business days. Refunds are issued through Stripe to your original payment method and usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

When you use AI features, Spomen sends recordings to Scaleway (EU), ElevenLabs (USA, for Bulgarian), or OpenAI (USA) for transcription; story text to OpenAI and Anthropic (USA) for questions and writing; text to Google or OpenAI for narration; and scanned pages or illustration prompts to Google. Some processing takes place outside the EU. These services process your content for Spomen as described in our Privacy Policy. You can still read and export your archive without agreeing.
